Job Title:             Senior Buyer/Planner

Location:             Chelmsford, MA

 

How you will make a difference:

As a Senior Buyer/Planner, this position is responsible for production planning and control, as well as the purchasing of related raw materials, components and supplies to support customer requirements in a World Class Manufacturing environment. Work closely with customer service, suppliers, manufacturing and distribution to ensure customer expectations are met.

 

Responsibilities

  • Reviews Demand signals for assigned commodities. Establishes partnership relationships with suppliers that support company goals and objectives.
  • Utilizes system to generate and adjust purchase orders in support of MRP requirements and effectively communicates areas of concern to appropriate departments, individuals, and suppliers.
  • Work closely internal cross functional team members that address lead time production, order fill rate performance, quality performance, cost reduction, and technical improvements.
  • Responsible for planning and monitoring production and      maintaining inventory levels of finished goods and components to ensure      customer service levels are met consistently for all products.
  • Schedule production on a routine basis, periodically      adjusting to current sales trends to ensure customer service levels are met.
  • Work closely with manufacturing management to ensure      production schedules are met to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Purchasing raw material, components, and supplies to      support production and sales plans by entering purchase orders.      Understanding of MOQs.
  • Provide support and communication regarding inventory      and delivery status to appropriate managers.
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure quality raw      material, component parts, and supplies are delivered on time; at the      lowest total cost to satisfy production schedules and sales forecasts.
  • Develop supplier relationships to enhance understanding      of their capabilities, to resolve issues, to audit processes, and to      reinforce continuous improvement.
  • Identify projects to reduce costs and create an      environment of continuous improvement in quality and efficiency in all      phases of the job.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years' relevant experience in an operations/manufacturing environment; hands on-manufacturing experience on manufacturing floor.
  • Bachelors degree
  • Strategic thinking with global reach
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills: verbal and written
  • Team player attitude with high energy level, able to get things done by working with and through others.
  • Understand supply chain
  • Oracle experience a plus
  • Full understanding of MRP
  • Microsoft Office
