Job Title:             Senior Public Relations and Communications Manager

 

Location:             Chelmsford, MA

 

How you will make a difference:

The Senior Public Relations & Communications Manager will be responsible for developing communications and corporate brand strategy, as well as all PR and Communications functions at Endeavor Robotics, with the goal of driving awareness, leadership, influence, and engagement with the press, influencers, and the product-users. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated strategic communications experience, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and will have a strong ability to handle sensitive issues and crises under pressure, and to provide sound counsel to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the communications strategy and build positive relationships with press, public affair officers, and other influencers.

    • Develop messaging framework that supports business goals.

    • Identify, pitch and place opportunities in print, broadcast and online media (in both top-tier and trade pubs.).

    • Manage media inquiries and interview requests.

    • Monitor media coverage of the robotics and defense & security sector to be able to anticipate trends, issues, and opportunities

    • Research, write, and edit communications materials, including (but not limited to) press releases, pitches, fact sheets, Q&As, briefing materials, press quotes, talking points, key messages, emails, social media posts, and presentations

    • Media train executives and subject matter experts (as needed).

    • Track and report metrics for PR effectiveness on a regular basis 

  • Manage social media strategy, as a core part of an integrated communications campaign.

    • Manage content calendar that syncs with strategic initiatives and also takes into account the work being done by other internal and external stakeholders.

    • Develop internal sources for content and collaborate with senior leadership, engineering, and other marketing staff to develop strategic, compelling content that engages key constituents.

    • Monitor trends and best practices in social media tools, applications, channels, design, and strategy across robotics and defense categories

    • Identify and determine viability of new opportunities and propose plans for incorporating into existing strategy.

    • Develop and implement strategies to minimize the impact of negative responses on social media.

    • Monitor all accounts outside of work hours for negative comments and spam.

    • Track and report social media metrics on a regular basis

  • Manage print and digital advertising in the trade space

    • End-to-end responsibility for advertising

    • Collaborate with designer to create ads

    • Serve as the single point of communication for all advertisers regarding contracts, artwork needed, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 7+ years in public relations or communications, with a sound knowledge of technology or the defense sector and consistent track record of success

  • Proven track record designing and executing successful public relations campaigns at a national level.

  • Proven ability to leverage social media to produce PR results

  • Well-spoken, with superior ability to represent/ demonstrate Endeavor Robotics and its products during interviews, including on-camera.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; creative and conversational writer who is also a diligent proofreader

  • A demonstrated ability to create earned media opportunities in support of a larger strategy

  • Strong relationships with both local and national business and industry media outlets.
